| 11.30.01 11:39 PM (Friday) Stressful essay |
Today was another crazy day, because I fell asleep without writing my essay last night... argh... let's just say I was trying to finish my Individualism essay frantically before 6th period. Through 1st, 2nd, Cultural Relations skipped at Starbucks, 3rd, 4th, lunch, 5th. I hope I can get some pity and maybe a B or maybe better, but I doubt it will happen...
Afterschool I went to David's house to go burn a CD, what fun. |
| 11.29.01 10:59 PM (Thursday) Cold cold cold at the carousel |
Hectic day! The schoolday was pretty uneventful... let's see... second day of Cultural Relations, I went with Belinda and Shu Ming and Anna and Austin to Racial Relations in Strentz' room. We were mostly Asian and no one talked though, which was pretty stereotypical. Hmm... lunch I tried to do my homework for Statistics and I was asking help from so many people but no one knew how to get people with colds. I ended up on various tangents, like this funny conversation with Alex G. about infomercials. During 5th we had a lockdown because of an intruder, we thought it was a drill but it wasn't.. the police were there and they apprehended the person. It sucked to be in a class with mostly freshmen. Yeah.
Afterschool I was going to go to Starbucks' to do homework but I didn't have the packets necessary to write my essay nor did I have my Statistics Assessment sheet, so I went home. I'm glad I made that decision because I did my entire Statistics Assessment when I got home. Around 3:30 I decided to leave for Downtown, got on the 48, saw H'Rail and said hi, got off and took the 7 to Downtown, was hella early, so I went to Barnes and Noble to get my copy of Huck Finn. We were supposed to meet at 5, so I went to the carousel... and found out our shift started at 6! Anna, Lynn, Stephanie, Krysta and I went around Westlake, to Starbucks' where we waited until out shift. Back to the carousel, met up with Christina, Leah G., Eugene, Daniel, and Justin from Franklin. Yeah it was pretty fun. It was quite cold though and my hands were just freezing. I struck up some interesting conversations with the other volunteers.
Well 9 finally came, and everyone had to part ways except Christina, Lynn and I went to Gameworks to play DDR. Yeah i was originally supposed to go with Eugene but he didn't want to go... loser! Christina and I ended up playing, it was pretty fun... Lynn soon left. Apparently it was Ladies' Night and some The End 107.7 Blind Date thing so there were lots of 20 something singles roaming around... kinda awkward because we were the only highschoolers there! Or so it seemed. At around 9:30 we left and waited at Barnes' and Noble until our rides came. And that concludes my day! |
| 11.28.01 11:10 PM (Wednesday) Cultural relations |
Today was crazy. In the morning I woke up early because I had an appointment with my counselor before school. I found out a) I didn't get any credit for the Chem class I took over summer and b) TAing didn't count as Occ Ed. Darn.
Well the next exciting part of my day was Cultural Relations. I really didn't know what forum to go to so I went into race relations. Cultural Relations seems like a waste of time because most people are aware of the problems we have at GHS but no one seems to do anything about it. By the time we address the issues, we address the "whys", we run out of time for solutions. Besides, trying to change GHS is like trying to change society. Not going to happen that easily.
We had a super hard reading analysis in AP US. Since our classes were shortened to 40 minutes I didn't really have time to think about all of the questions so I BSed the last three... ^^;
Lunch in Key Club, I was officially inducted! I also have to volunteer at the carousel tomorrow.
And yeah... those were the higlights of my day. |
| 11.28.01 4:01 AM (Wednesday) Class registrations... and Happy B-day Raymond! |
A lot of things happened yesterday... first off, we got materials for class registration next semester. My dilemma is whether I should continue to TA or take an occ ed class... Stever told us that being Lab TA's we get .5 instead of .25 credit, I don't know though... luckily I talk to my counselor later today to get things settled.
Oh yeah and during lunch we had a mini-party for Raymond in Stever's because it was his birthday. I went into Spang's to light the cake with David and we brought it in but he wasn't there... so we had to bring it back and do it again when he came. My present to him was a Nutri-grain bar because I couldn't find anything else to give him (Happy Birthday!) And yeah...
During 5th I struggled to write my thesis sentence for an LA paper. It sucked, I thought for most of 5th and some of 6th and my thesis was really crappy. Also during 5th David and I had to go to get more paper towel rolls from the custodian and he was really weird... somewhat scary even. |
| 11.23.01 10:37 PM (Friday) Funny scene while parking at the pier |
Today was pretty fun! The day after Thanksgiving.
Yesterday I simply stayed home, but I had a turkey and lumpia dinner which was
really good. Back to today. I woke up and my mom dropped me off Downtown for
Arcade Team practice. It was really busy down there, lots of holiday shoppers
taking advantage of the sales. I came a little late and I only saw James while we
were walking in, so that wasn't a good sign. Later I chanced upon Dung, Anita,
and Jon who were outside going to see a movie. Jon told me everyone else was
parking, so that was a good sign. Yeah... two hours of my game card, I spent a
good time playing DDR but it really sucked. Oh yeah, saw Erin and Elise playing
DDR too, haven't talked to them in some time. Later on I played on a motorcycle
game and it was really funny because I couldn't get the thing to move at all... I
played it again and figured it out though. Well after that it was just me, David,
Alex, James, and Jie Yang, who drove us down to Ivars' to get some food. On the
way there we saw something really funny and horrible at the same time. We were
waiting for a car to get out so we could park but they wouldn't go for some
reason. Then we saw the driver pick up this kid by the collar and drag him out of
the car... it was really funny. I was yelling "SOCIAL SERVICES! SOCIAL SERVICES!"
and everyone else was freaking out too. Oh well, at least they left us 20 minutes
for parking. After we ate Jie Yang dropped James, David, and I at David's house
where we tried to install his CD-RW drive but it wasn't working and we got all
frustrated. Seeing as how I was frustrated by staying there I decided to walk
home. And yeah... my mom is cooking leftover turkey and some more lumpia so it
should be another dinner like last night! |
| 11.21.01 11:42 PM (Wednesday) |
| Monday and Tuesday weren't very cool... Monday I
found out I got 73 on the Creighton essay (YES!) and Tuesday I took a Stats test,
watched a little Bartleby in LA. Today was interesting however. The schoolday was
pretty boring, all classes shortened so we could get out 1:15, an hour early. At
the end of school Shu Ming gave me her popcorn which was the best I tasted from a
wide range of samples. I bummed a ride with Eric to Aaron's house but we got
there a little late because we stopped for gas. At Aaron's there were 10 or so of
us... Aaron, David L., David C-M, Brian S., Eric, Peter, Alex L., Alex G.,
myself, and Aaron's sisters and we were lounging around playing X-Box (BOOOOOOO! hehe)
or in the exercise room. After a while we went to Chinatown so we could go get
sushi ingredients for the sushi party. I rode in the car with Eric and Alex L.,
and we arrived early despite heavy traffic so we waited for the rest to arrive.
We lost David C-M and Brian S. in the process. We bought around $17 worth of
sushi stuff. After that I got back into the car with Eric and Alex G. came along
with us; we headed down to MacPherson's for some cucumber and avocadoes and to my
house for my kyuri and Japanese rice. To David's house, where we met Raymond and
James and crowded up David's room. We mainly played on the Dreamcast or went
online. After a while we had a sushi making dinner and it was pretty cool. Back
to David's room, more games. After a while we decided to go smash a pumpkin so we
went to the park by Maple to do it, pretty exciting. Then we decided to drag race
so we went by Boeing Field to do so, pretty fun stuff. Back to David's house,
where some people left. I remember reading a portion of Ami's Hentai Story out
loud... anyways, we all decided to go home so Eric gave me another ride home. |
| 11.18.01 3:33 AM (Sunday) |
A lot has happened since Thurs...
Friday- Boring schoolday. Japanese had a stupid sushi quiz, Stats test and
project due, History finished video, got lunch with Aaron in lunchroom,
discussion in LA but didn't participate. Afterschool went to Gossip then to Old
Navy and Gameworks with Shu Ming and Amy. Went to look for restuarant by myself
for Tori's surprise party, couldn't find it, took two hours to find, party was
delayed until 10. Called my sister to pick me up, said she was in Chinatown, so I
went there and hung out with her friends. Went to Karaoke for two hours.
Today- The day didn't really start until I went to Uwaji with my sister to get
sushi ingredients. Bought a ton of other things and it only cost around $25. Got
Chemistry's CD finally! After that I went to David's house to make the sushi.
Came home around 1, and my sister and I went outside to look for shooting stars
since tonight there was a meteor shower... saw a lot of them. Around 2:57 I saw
the biggest, brightest one I would see tonight, and it left a nice streak too. I
decided to go back in. |
| 11.15.01 11:00 PM (Thursday) |
I'm really tired, but in the tradition of recapitulating...
Monday- there was no school because of Veteran's Day, had an ortho appointment at
this new Southcenter office and went for teriyaki after that.
Tuesday- This day sucked a lot. In the morning Jeffo gave me a CD his mom bought
for me in Japan, Amuro Namie's "Say the Word" CD-S. During 2nd Eric and Michele
were making fun of it because of the Engrish-ed lyrics... "Let's not fight, cos
it's SO not right!" lol. I don't remember too much of what happened but by the
day was over I was feeling pretty down.
Wednesday- So-so. 1st period we made really good sushi, during lunch I had Key
Club but we didn't do anything productive. Yeah.
Today- Woke up hella early because I had to finish an LA essay... went to school,
found out I got a 94.5% on my AP Calc test which was good but I thought I did
better. 4th period we watched this interesting movie taped from Fox Family about
the Underground Railroad. I also bought a Talent Show ticket from Megsie because
I told her I would buy her last one if it didn't sell by 4th... so I did. Went to
Ezell's with Eugene really quickly, lunch, project presentations in LA. Got home,
did Calc HW, tried to bum a ride but no one could give me one... took the bus to
the Talent Show, sat in the very front, and it was pretty cool. The order of
performances should've been switched around though. Well Ben just sent me the
e-mail I need to do my Stats project, so I'm out... |
| 11.10.01 11:31 PM (Saturday) |
Let me recap on the past three days....
Thursday we had a Chapter 3 test in Calc (hoping I got an A), and during tutorial
I planned to study for a mult. choice and essay in History but NO stupid class
officers had to waste our time with another meeting. Half of the juniors didn't
go, having been smart that the last meeting was complete BS. So I tried to study
for my test during that but it was no use... there was material from the last
unit on it, and it was basically that, so I didn't too so well on the essay. I
ended up getting a 61% on mult. choice. Lunch was at Wendy's, then we had Miranda
as our sub for LA so we went outside for the period and 6 people played kickball
while the rest just sat around.
Yesterday was fun because we had an assembly
for Veteran's Day. The assembly was after 2nd period and we were supposed to sit
with our classes so teachers could take attendance but no one really did, and I
sat in the juniors section. It was weird because the girl who sang the national
anthem messed up and i found it really funny because she tried to sing better but
messed up even more. The veterans were all Asian, specfically Japanese. There was
a really long speech which I couldn't really understand. And yeah.. the rest of
the day was pretty uneventful.
Today I spent the entire morning trying to get
someone to go see a movie with me, and no one wanted to :( Oh well I went to
Chinatown and Gameworks and then to David's house. We went to Costco for hotdogs
and churros, back to his house, then Eric, Raymond, and James came over. We
basically played games on the Dreamcast and with Alex and Jon online until Eric
gave me a ride home. |
| 11.7.01 4:15 PM (Wednesday) |
Today was special. In the morning I was supposed to
get a Krispy Kreme donut from David but they were in Raymond's car so I had to
wait until lunch. In Japanese we had a particle test, it was weird because during
STARS I had to make the key. Statistics we had a snack party for root beer floats
which was kinda spontaneous. Lunch at Key Club, no Krispy Kremes because they
were all eaten :( I went to David's house afterschool though to get some. Then
Raymond drove me home.
Today I also begin my independent study of AP Biology because Stever gave some
college Bio books. It should be fun I hope... |
| 11.6.01 6:51 PM (Tuesday) |
| Today was... so-so. During school I struggled to finish
my LA commentary journal for Red Badge of Courage. I did my Calculus homework
last night so I was so proud of myself but I neglected to do my Statistics HW
because I didn't understand it... luckily I finished it in class. We got our 1st
project back today, Ben and I got a 25/25! My grade dropped to 97.7% because of
my 47 on the test though... darn. And throughout Lunch and 5th period I was
struggling to finish my commentary journal, luckily I did, in the nick of time.
6th period was O_O Michael I. and I had to talk about Red Badge to Lala, Sarah
C., and Megsie and I didn't do so well... oh well. |
| 11.4.01 5:36 PM (Saturday) |
Sundays are so boring! Yesterday I had fun looking for
AP study guides. My sister took me to Southcenter but we couldn't find any there,
I decided to play one game of DDR doubles anyway and it attracted a really huge
crowd. Went to Barnes and Nobles and searched through the shelves of AP study
guides they had... and bought some! Now I hope I won't be as stuck in Calc. After
that I used the rest of the money to buy some Chocolate Brownie Frappucino's. We
stopped by Johnno's house to pick up the PSX but it wasn't modded. Oh well. And
that was yesterday... today has been blah. I watched Sister Act, and uhh had a
can of Spaghetti and Meatballs which were kinda nasty. Off to HW now.
